Picture the late 70’s and the early 80’s in Los Angeles, California. The radio station was KIEV-AM out of Glendale, California and it covered miles around the Los Angeles area.

Every weekday morning I prepared for work while listening to the voices of Dr. Joseph Murphy who taught at the Wilshire Ebell Theater, Dr. Frank Richielieu who was the founding minister of the Redondo Beach Church of Religious Science, and Dr. Bill Hornaday who was not only the minister but had also worked with Dr. Ernest Holmes, founder of the United Church of Religious Science. These esteemed teachers taught for fifteen minutes each beginning at 6:30a.m daily.

After several years of introduction to the New Thought message by radio, I began accredited classes in the Science of Mind at Founder’s Church of Religious Science where Dr. Hornaday was the minister. Shortly after that however, I discovered Dr. Daniel L. Morgan, the founding minister of the Guidance Church in Los Angeles and I completed my basic training under him where I became a licensed Practitioner of Religious Science.

he revered Dr. Juanita Dunn had been facilitating personal growth workshops for a number of years and she invited me to join her and we co-facilitated personal growth and prosperity workshops for several years. We developed an active practice and established offices in the Wilshire District where we saw clients and facilitated workshops.

I had no formal training in Bible understanding, yet I found myself always searching the Bible for meaning behind issues in my own life and a desire to grow spiritually. Additionally, as a Practitioner, it was my practice to read the Bible before receiving a client who was seeking help. I am certain that the clarity with which I was able to understand the Bible grew out of my extensive training and understanding the Laws of Mental Science.

Dr. Joseph Murphy, the first of the three morning speakers on the radio retired from his radio ministry. I took over that fifteen minute segment without having an organization. The cost was very expensive. I told the station management that I would take the segment by faith, believing that the listeners would support the program financially and they did. I continued to teach Bible lessons on the radio for more than four years—even though I had no formal Bible training.

In order to receive such substantial donations to sustain the radio ministry it became necessary for me to form a religious organization and from this, Inspirations Ministries was born and I became Reverend Ahman. As an independent, trans-denominational Bible based ministry, Inspirations incorporates the basic principles of New Thought teachings, and the concepts of “A Course In Miracles.”

Later, Dr. Robert Scott, a revered minister and leader in Religious Science, established an extension of the United Church of Religious Science School of Ministry ( Los Angeles) at his church in San Jose, California. I graduated from this two year accelerated program. After a few years I did not continue to keep my license as a minister in the Religious Science movement active.

While I was a student at this school, at the same time I served as one of the Bible Instructors because of my practical experience. I believed and demonstrated that the Author of the Bible will teach anyone who reads it with faith—that He will teach them.

After about ten years of teaching the steps of the Spiritual Mind Treatment (scientific prayer) and meditation, I wrote a book on “The Spiritual Mind Treatment.” This is a personal manual on how to use the effective specialized techniques of prayer, meditation and affirmations to heal specific conditions and to change your life.

After nearly twenty years of study, teaching and practicing the principles of New Thought teachings and the concepts of “A Course In Miracles,” I can now clearly see that everything I have learned is already explained in the Book of Acts. However, I believe that I am only able to see with a level of clarity—only because of the path I took through metaphysics and the study of “A Course In Miracles.”

I have had a happy journey in seeking, studying, learning and experiencing God with some wonderful people along the way. I believe that I have something to share and I share it in a lively, interesting way that is informative, humorous and healing. At least, that’s what the people say. I hope to have the opportunity to share with you.
